Gator told me that Lake Anahuac is full of salt water and salt species. He also said the barrier between salt and fresh is washed out.

going to bolivar tomorrow, check on the house. friend went yesterday and his house is total loss, only 8 foot up. we are 18. he saw our shack from 87 and bottom floor is gone as well as steps, but said beams and wallls look good. hopefully shutters and shingles held up. insurance man going too so should have pics. please help us push to rebuild bolivar, always been a great fishing community without the pressure of big business. the community is in bad shape, but the media is making it sound worse than it is. house looked good. till we got inside. held up to the flood but not the wind. water came in everywhere. all beds couches etc. destroyed. mold took the carpet and sheet rock. gonna have to gut it to a frame. salt water destroys everything so quick. good news is the frame held! pics to come, sorry im not computer savvy, waiting on help. we were 6 lots from beachfront, had 4' sand out front. long walk from 87. help us push to rebuild bolivar.

Hey Booger Red...I used that name (Booger Red) in the late 70's and early 80's as a cb handle when I drove trucks...Haven't thought about that in years, thanks for the memories...

Afriend of mine was always down there fishing. Had a camper set up there. He went down the other day when they started letting people back on to look. He snapped a few pics for us.

Hey br! It looks like your parents' house did very well on Bolivar; compared to others. I am happy for you and your folks. I know it will take a lot of work but at least they have something to work on. They have a very nice house, too!

Sure glad to see you got the attachment thing down pat. Thanks a bunch for the pics.

Thats very nice that your house has suvived how long until the state removes all of the sand form you property i have heard that they are going to move all the sand to the beaches so that they can try to rebuil the dunes and form a nateral seawall

we dragged the drive and part of the road to the side of a county easement, so hopefully soon. the picture of 87 shows the need for dunes as a seawall.
