Went back home to So. Florida to see the national championship game and got in a little fishing while we were there.

We went on a 3/4 day trip out of Stuart. Great boat (been on it before), great crew (freakin' hilarious guys), awesome fishing. Weather was 82, not a cloud in the sky. We caugt tons of sea bass, but only one was big enough to keep (they have to be 12"). We also caught a ton of mutton and lane snapper too.

The highlight of the day came early on my first drop. I mean the second that thing hit bottom I hooked into a nice 9lb red snapper which ended up holding up fr the next 6 hours somehow and netting me about $65 in the big fish wager.

Here are the pics from the game and fishing. We also rented a boat one afternoon to do some sightseeing on the intracoastal and inlet, and managed to get a few pics of some dolphin. For the golfers, the big house w/ the Australian flag is Greg Norman's estate.

Not sure yet. We won't even think about river trips until it warms up considerably. We completely shut down all fishing between usually December and March. This trip to FL was a special circumstance.

Yeah, we had a blast. The weather was fantastic, and as always the water was crystal clear. I've been lurking around for the past couple of months, but like I told Layton, I hate cold weather and don't fish at all in wintertime, so I try to block it from my memory so I don't go into withdrawals.

Pretty soon though we'll start making our supply of weights and lines for the upcoming season.

Yeah, that was a massive one. He was only about ten feet from where I was standing on the dock. That's a brown pelican which was on the endangered list until the mid 80s I believe. There are a ton of them around there lately, so it's great to see them comming back.

Did you catch the dolphin in that picture of the trees?
