Timmy, I use wunderground.com (see link below). If you scroll down to the bottom of the page there are real time weather stations you can view. I also use the Galveston webcams to check out the surf conditions. Hope this helps and Good luck on the jetties!

What day you going? Friday looks to be very windy. Sat and Sun seem to be a little better.

I use a combination of these sites...these are set to the Galveston & High Island areas. You can set to most locations on the Texas Coast if you prefer. Some sites also allow you to toggle between knots vs mph, celsius and fahrenheit, meters and feet....Remember not all Texas Coast locations are created equal (bottom topography). I found High Island to be similiar in nature to Surfside, but they both differ from Galveston. A common mistake is to go to galveston.com and observe the live cam actions of the surf then make a trip to High Island. I venture to High Island quite often and found that the cam in surfside is a decent representation of the surf at High Island.

Timmy!! Thanks for starting this thread. I agree that these are great links. I like them so much, I combined them into a special thread which I stuck for future reference in General Saltwater Discussions.

You know in my limited jettie experience, the waves created from boats and barges are more a concern than wind.

Does anyone fish at the jetties before with the surf waist to chest high? Im thinking about going tommorow but in the morning the surf are waist to chest high. When the waves like that does the fish bite when the tide come in? Or the fish go some where else because of the surf that are to high.

Fish will bite during an incoming and outgoing tide. Fish are active 1-2 hrs before and 1-2 hrs after the tide has moved.

I have not waded by the jetties.Be careful wading waist to chest deep water. Tide and current can knock you off balance and pull you under.
