Well, since i got my boat back i have been thinking about the CCA Tourny that starts May 29, 2010, and i'm off that weekend!! Does anyone else fish this? I am in need of a partner or another boat that would be willing to show me around alittle. Maybe even make a weekend out of it?? maybe even a regular thing out of it. Just a thought. If ANYONE could help a fella out, I'd owe them one!

I have a 18.5 ProMaster Ctr. Console, with a Johnson 115hp. that can fit @ 4-5 people with gear, Just in case someone w/o a boat wants to come along.

Thanks

Rick

Vett0 and I also are CCA members and we will also be fishing the Texas Star Tourney.

Where is it that you fish out of. I see you stay on in San Antoe and was wonder is what bays you plan on fishing?

As BFT said we are members and plan on entering the tourny. Do you plan on fishing upper or lower coast?

BFT, I have never fished any of the bays. I mostly fished from the bank and from a few piers. I have also waded from different spots. This will be my first year (and time) fishing from a boat. Aside from that I have ZERO experience of any places to fish. Any suggestions?Vett, I would like to fish the CC - Rockport area, and I have thought about trying the Jetties, but I'm open to learn other areas. What places do you guys fish? Any tips on where NOT to go? or when is better?ThanksRick

I have fished West bay, Galveston- San Luis Pass area. We are learning as well. I Had good luck at catching some Big reds and Big Uglies. . We have caught trout as well. This summer hope to fish a lot more. This is first year with a salt water boat. PM me and I will give you some info on the areas we fish. Maybe we can hook up and fish somewhere. One of my fishing buddies like to fish CC. He could help us out finding fish.

Jetties are fun to fish.

Look at some of our past threads. Look for big bull reds 1,2, & 3 and bull drum threads.

I haved fished this tourney for the last 19 years and in 2008 I won the Redfish division ( 2nd place ) but I will not be able to fish this tourney until 2012 per the rules and be sure to read the rules. Key in on the baitfish, find them and you will find the fish. Come on 2012.

I won a 2008 F-150 and a 2008 Triton 22 LTS bay boat. I have to wait 3 years per the rules, before I can try to win again. If I can help let me know.

been signed up since last year! An like someone in another post said "if it has fins, i'm fishing for it!" but seriously i would like to target anything that would could win me a New Boat!

I have never caught a Red Drum before, i have caught a small Trout though. And i have caught a few Flounder, but its been a long time since the last one.

So, i guess it would be to fish for Reds, or Flounder ( my favorite!)

When I caught my tag red I was using mullet from 7 to 10 inches long( live ) remember reds key in on structure ( docks, rocks wrecks etc) of any kind to find the baitfish, also arti will work for you also.
This works great for flounder also.
