I'm with you but I haven't put anything in photobucket in years, I just put them in a file on my desktop and move to auxiliary hard drive once a month. Photobucket started out as a free service and now I'm free of them.

When I first started using Photo Bucket, back a long time ago 1999 you had to have a storage place to put photos on the forums. Or maybe I was just to dumb to know of a different way. At any rate I have a bunch on there and looks like I will never be able to retrieve them because $400 is way out of the chili for me, I wouldn't even pay a one time fee of $50. I always though of it as a permanent spot to keep photos and be able to retrieve them as needed. Wrong Again!

it seemed like a real good deal i never used because if it seems to good to be true it usually is not!!!
I had many people say how good it was now all the pics that were on the board are gone due t o"photo bucket""

according to all research I can find, you can still access your photos. You can still use the site for storing your photos, for free. What you can't do, is share them with third party sites for free.

So, set up a file in your computer, get onto photobucket, and download all your photos ... before they actually DO hold your stuff "hostage".

Are you saying you can access the older photos on here? There are a lot of photos I posted here over the years that I saved nowhere else so if you know how please share. Oh and I've never used photobucket.

I just went on and downloaded 132 of my 628 photos to a file on my desktop. Had to drag em one at a time but that was all I could get. I will try and get more later.

Might be a pain but if you have an iPhone you can pull pic up and tap and hold. Then you can save to phone. Then you can load them to a computer.

I was looking at some of the fish pics I have posted over the years. I did the exact thing I just said to do.

I'm sure android phones will do the same. I don't have any experience using one. Never owned one to see how it works.

Here are a few.

Better get busy, SK.
My computer has at least that many photos on it, plus a huge library of videos ... so I know yours will hold the few thousand pictures you have.

Probably an accident, I just logged in and went to my photo page and reduced that a little bit, by pulling it down about an inch. I had a file at the top my desktop. I just clicked on the photo and drug it to the file. I had to do them one at a time. When I opened an album it would not let me do that. After I uploaded the first 128 or so it would not let me pull up any more photos. I don't know may be my computer is slow, but I will keep trying. I only lack 500 to be even.

OK, just back from downloading over 300 photos. I'll try to show how I did it. Pull up photobook and lower it to be able to see the very top of your screen, put a folder there. Left click on the photo and drag it to you file. It takes a while doing them one at a time but whatever it takes to recover the photos. In the bottom photo you drag the small photos from the bottom line and when you get em all hit the > and it moves over the entire line. Hope that helps or works for those in need.

OK, I just looked and all the photo are very small, the first 128 I uploaded from the page was fine, the last ones are useless.

Thanks Jackie, I'll have to give that a try.
I was trying to open each pic to retrieve it but looks like you're doing it while just the folder is open....
