Me and my daughter went out on A dad and daughter fishing trip. We wer'e throwing D.O.A. shrimp in about 6 to 9 ft of water and the location was the old railroad bride, well anyway I ended up catching 2 reds - 1 was 22 and the other was 20 inches. Kendall ended up catching a 5.3lb trout and after a 10 minute fight using a zebco 33, it was landed. I wish I would have had a video camera why she was fighting this fish, PRICELESS

I hope I moved this thread to where you wanted it.

Very nice. She will remember that forever. I do; when I was about her age and fishing with my dad, I caught a 6.5 lb. speckled trout. Those fish are some good fighters for young girls. Tell her good job getting it in with that Zebco. You think it might be time to upgrade her equipment? lol

You think it might be time to upgrade her equipment? loli agree with sue if she is gonna go fishin with dad in the big salty then she needs something a little better than a zebco 33 to do it with. not that there is anything wrong with zebco's got two of em myself she just needs something to help here get any of them big fish in and if she likes zebco i would suggest a Zebco Spincast Combo 606 Reel w/6'6" Rod with 20lb line. That should handle a big spec or anything else up to 30 to 40 lb. class. got to get this gal something that will give her a fighting chance to outdo ole dad bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahaha

Those zebco 33's are pretty tuff reals though.

The ol zebco 33 is Kendalls favorite reel, I modded it with 15lb Berkley big game. I have offered to buy her a new reel but she insists that "ol lucky" works just fine, oh yea she told me to tell all of you'all thanks for the comments.

bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahaha well she has got to be good to use small reels on big fish and i like her attitude about it. and you tell her i said she is welcome

'Priceless' smile there. I've seen it on my kids faces too. Worth all the effort too! Tell Kendall my oldest boy loves his Zebco 33 too.
