Now I see why I didn't git one being a ground pounder, but I thought every one in the army was 11B. When they gave orders after AIT all but 3 in my company was Southeast Asia. Three of us went to Ft. Benning for jump school, another of my many mistakes. Don't volunteer for nothing.
I actually bought a new one last Thursday. I'm wearing it right now. I even wear it in bed this time of year.
100% Wool, Mil-spec, $7 at my local Army/Navy store.
Most watchcaps are made of Acrylic. Old mariners say wool clothing will keep you warmer when it gets wet, but cotton and synthetics will not.
My wife accidentally ran my old one through the clothes dryer. Ruined it.
WIFES !! the gretaest gift God could give a man but sometimes they jsut dont understand , i bought a clam gun at the Cut & SHoot yesterday and my wife asked don't you have enough guns already :oops::apologetic:?? our body heat goes ou tthe top of our heads thats why the "WATCH CAP"aka "SOCK CAP" is worn in the winter time
