Best Bait for a Fish Trap

I want to catch shad in a fish trap.

What is the best bait for that?

Yesterday I tried dry dog food, but had no luck. :apologetic:

You should get them up against the bulk heads early morning before sunup

Cast net is only way I’ve caught them.

Get some algae and put in trap they are algae/plankton eatters

try corn meal or range cubes.
