    JOHN BOAT REPAIR

REPAIR JOB I DID ON MY NEPHEWS JOHN BOAT. HE HIT A LOG IN THE TRINITY RIVER UP BY RIVERSIDE. HE NEVER SAW IT. HOLE WAS ABOUT 2” WIDE BY 3” LONG. I ALSO MACHINED AND WELDED IN A NEW DRAIN PLUG AND WELDED UP THE BOTTOM RIDGES ON THE LAST 3” BECAUSE OF LEAKS. I DIDN’T GET ANY PICTURES OF THE BOTTOM. DIDN’T FEEL LIKE TURNING IT OVER AGAIN.

You do very good work Texasleadhead. It's not always easy to repair a big gash in a jon boat with a tig.

    Good Post Texasleadhead

    Nice looking repair job there.

    THANKS GUYS.

FLATCATS YOU ARE CORRECT. IT IS NOT AS EASY AS PEOPLE THINK. THE PART YOU SEE INSIDE THE BOAT LOOKS BAD BUT THE BOTTOM WELDING AND THE PLUG LOOK LIKE A REAL WELD.

As long as it floats and the leaks stay away it does not matter what it looks like, good work on that boat. I know who to call if I ever need some repairs done.
