Where were you when JFK was shot?

It appears as though all the tv channels are broadcasting about this historic day in Dallas. Just wonder where everyone was but then again some of you may not have been in this world. I was in our living room in Baytown, watching tv and ironing a shirt. Back then we ironed our shirts vs sending them to the cleaners. There was no such thing as a wash and ware shirt but then again, there are a lot of things we have not that we did not have back in the good old days. I was 18 and just starting to work and going to Lee Jr College.

I was four and a half and we lived just outside of Sacramento. I had my toys on the floor in front of the TV playing when the first announcement was made that he'd been shot. No one was sure for a while. My Dad came home from work for some reason and was very sad. All our family, Aunts, Uncles and Cousins all showed-up and right about then Walter Cronkite came on and officially announced he was gone. That's when a realized what was happening-it was Walter Cronkite's words. For days I watched every adult in my life cry right out loud, without reserve. Without holding back. We were never the same after that. The whole world seemed to change forever.

I was in the third grade. I remember the principal came to our door and told the teacher and then she told us. A little later they turned on the PA system in the classrooms to listen to the radio.
I live too far from fishable waters.
