For me going fishing is just about getting outdoors. Catching fish is just a bonus.

I have used the FM830 ramp When I fish the south end of the lake. If I am fishing north, I usually launch at Stowaway ($10) or Cagle ($5). If you launch at Cagle, make sure you know where the boat lanes are because there are a lot of stumps.
Good judgement is a result of experience. Experience is often the result of bad judgement.

830 boat ramp is a good place to launch, directly across the lake is little creek. Lots of boat docks and a rock groin off to the left at walden. I hope you saw the grafitti on the boat ramp. Not a good place to leave your truck past sundown. Stowaway marina on the north end of the lake is first class, and they serve up a killer hamburger. I fish out of Scotts ridge boat ramp at 1097, west side. Flooded timber and up Caney creek has some nice green perch for ya. I have fished Connroe for 30 yrs and am always finding great spots to fish.

i have heard those bad roomers about 830 boat ramp . only used it once , not a good experience . scotts ridge off 1097 or cagle off 1375 are good ramps , but they are kind of open to boat traffic . i use stowaway , but i only go there 2-3 times a year .

I heard the same report from the kayakers.

You can put in a couple of places there off 105 I recall, I think April Plaza is one, have not been there in a while, we used to launch Scotts Ridge all the time when I lived on W side of Houston. From this area Daniel I would just go up 105 and pick a spot, but you are on S End of the lake. If you launch at Stow Away, you can fish behind there, but it gets beat up I am sure. I pass on Conroe myself, if I get the urge to go elsewhere besides around here its Bastrop or Fayette

Daniel ever try Sheldon, its a lot closer and has lots of fish in it. Went over there 2 weeks ago to get minnows ( only place that sells by the lb) parking lot was full of trailers there at the launch.

Also I am Steven H from LHAC, I saw you and Hugh the other night at the meeting, are you fishing with him again this year?
