Can't give any tips as I have not been there since I was a kid but that is where we used to go to gig flounder. I remember me, my dad and uncle dan would launch and camp on some shell island. At some point during the night my dad would wake me and we would gig old school style with a lantern. Man we used to fill coolers.
Are you targeting a particular species?
Like Killa said, good luck and have fun.

If you wade, you are more than welcome to join us on the beach this year. It's hard to beat surf fishing once it heats up.

One thing for sure, buy the biggest can of deep woods off in the store. Thousands of those skeeters, even in the middle of winter. East Matagorta bay is nice, fish the reefs in the middle of the bay, and the drains emptying into the bay.
