As the river flows, I am more than 150 miles from the ocean, so we only have fresh water here. But we do have the occasional Snook or Redfish caught in the area, and Skates aren't unusual. We also get the spawners, Striped Bass and American Shad.

You don't need to watch this if you're not interested, but it's a 7 minute run down the St. Johns River (down = north on this river). Couple of fish at the end.

What a desolate ride. Man, you run a boat 7 mins in a place like that here I bet you pass a few other boats on the water.
Oh, my friend . What time is this . To trade the handshake for the fist

There are parts of the River that have much more boat traffic, but that run was on a stretch that is fairly "out-of-way".

On another site, the question was posed, "What part of fishing do you like best?" My answer was, "The hook set". Almost every hook set feels solid for a fraction of a second. So, anything could be on there, for that short amount of time.
So, I put together a video of hook sets and pictures of fish from 2016.
