    Sabine Pass

    October 30-32 Nov. 1.
Thanks Nita for the use of your Skeeter 2200ZXt.
How can a bull red trip be a flop? First off if you are sick with the whogottchaflue stay home. Then with stellar results of Monday afternoon 3 reds, Tuesday morning 2 reds, Tuesday afternoon 3 makes for a long drive with low action. Add a rainy Wednesday drive home. Insert pocket book bending deal on motel(in Orange)gasoline in boat and truck, bait, along with meals and it is very costly for not much action. This is my first, and only, bum trip to Sabine Pass in over 20+ years. It had gone so good for so long, that I was under the impression of just show up and win. Well that ain't the way it is or was. I don't know what the problem is or was but after this trip I will think long and hard before investing three days and $500+ out of pocket expense for a salt trip. That doesn't include wear and tear on the truck, boat and equipment.
Here are photos of the trip, with Kirk Bailey, Doug Hughes, and myself.

Just one of the many reason I don't do salt water. I'll fish it if I have a job on the coast, but I don't seek it out.
Big fish are fun, but salt water does too much damage and I've rarely heard of an inexpensive trip.
I'll stick to fresh water fishing, thank you!

But, on the plus side ... those are some pretty Reds!

Some nice 1's for sure. Wouldn't call that a flop but probably hard to enjoy if you're under the weather.

Oh yeah. Love them big reds.

A lot better than being skunked.

You are correct on salty trips are pretty costly.

That’s for the pics buddy. I’ve had some pics attach like that as well. I don’t think it’s a computer virus
