Wooden wood duck call on the lathe

Made a wooden wood duck call for a good friend of mine that took me duck hunting last season. Something about a wood call versus plastic just sounds right. This one was made from bois d arc.

Any duck hunters here? When it's not fishing season of course

    That’s nice. Great job.

I’ve hunted ducks. No hardcore duck hunter tho.

Great work. Absolutely love wood grain. Kind of like a fingerprint.

    Duck hunters got potlickers too...lol.

Woodworking is relaxing...especially on the lathe...until you uncover a split right when you are about done...

Lol. I like to doing stuff for other folks when I can. Kind of a good feeling. However, it being mandated to be taken from me to give to someone else feels a little different. Lol.
