Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

Thanks for the welcome. I was really happy to find this place. I live out of Riverside between Huntsville and Trinity. I have always liked to fish and do a lot of it. I fish for nearly all fish depending on what’s biting. Since I am mostly a catch and release fisherman it really doesn’t matter what it is. I fish for Bass, White Bass, Catfish, Bluegill, Crappie, Carp, Gar, Bowfin and Gaspergoo. I match my tackle to the fish and can enjoy all of them. My favorite way to fish these days is out of my Tube boat but I have a 22’Pontoon, a 17’ Bass Boat, a 14’ Jon Boat and a 10’ Bass Buster plastic pond boat. I guess I sort of collect them and tackle as well because I have a building full of those too. When I want fish for supper I usually go bass and bluegill fishing in a pond or small private lake or go jug fishing in one of the creeks off the Trinity.

I spend a lot of time tinkering with my tackle and like to make things and modify them. I bend most of my own worm hooks and am always changing my lures, reels and rods around.

Each species of fish has its own special pleasures and fishing for each is a different experience. Bull Gills on ultra lite tackle is a lot like bass fishing and a big ole bull gill is every bit as challenging as a big ole bass. Bank or pontoon fishing for cats is a restful way to spend and afternoon or evening. Carp fishing is a wonderful way to teach a kid how to handle big strong fish and use a drag properly. From 2lb ultralite through 50lb heavy cat rods I have enjoyed them all.
