    Welcome to FishingTx BornToFish.

Bob, you've come to the right place to learn about catching catfish. Flagging jugs are used more on here than trotlines, but the pictures prove they work! Read and post and make yourself at home.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

Borntofish, are you still in Georgia? I have done a lot of trotlining in some Texas lakes. Not a lot to it. Make you some good strong lines with stainless steel hooks (so they won't rust), put them shallow in the spring, deep around channels and holes in the winter. Biggest problem is getting enough fresh bait to keep them in business. Run a seine or throw a castnet for minnows and shad. Tell us a little about where you fish and what you know about trotlines.
