A BIG welcome to fishing tx.
Welcome to fishingtx.Jump right in.
Thanks for the welcome message. I fish mainly saltwater but have moved up to Huffman and live on the east fork of Lake Houston. JohnW referred me to the website and I'm ready to learn freshwater.
I spend most of my time in the salt. I fish mainly for trout and reds with topwaters and soft plastics, but I have a real love for fly fishing. When I'm not fishing (which seems too often these days), I am in my shed tying flies for a variety of salt and freshwater species. I would really like to develop some flyfishing tactics for this area. I know that crappie, perch, and bass will totally nail flies in the hill country and imagine they would here as well. Regardless of the method, I want to get my family more exposed to fishing and am ready to learn everything I can from jugs to jigs.
I really enjoy this sport and am looking forward to getting aquainted with fishing in my own area. Again, thanks for the welcome and hope to go fishing with some of you soon.

Yes, the perch and bass with nail a fly! There are a lot of good spots when the weather warms up some. Maybe try a pond farm on or after a warm, sunny day.
Catfish...the other white meat.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.
