What a deal to graduate in 1959, or in my case to even graduate at all. In 1959 used car lots had an ample supply of 55-56-57 Chebbys, could pick nice ones up reasonable. You could also get a 55-56-57 Ford if you just wanted to look good and not go fast. Never thought the days of beautiful cars would come to a screeching hault 59-60-61 left a lot to be desired then along came the 62-63-64 Impalas and after that it was so-so at best. i guess I'm biased about the looks and performance of the early chebbys.
The music was also great in that era or maybe I'm just an old lost in the fifties guy.

You are right on about the 50's and early early 60's cars.
Now almost every car looks llike the other one.
We had this one family that was well off and their only child was a boy and he was one year older than me. So they bought him a brand spanking new 1957 2 door hardtop Bel Air V-8 chebby and that booger would run. We had lots of fun in that car. We would go to town (ElDorado) and circle the Dairy queen and everybody would come over and look at his 57 chebby.

Everybody wanted to ride in it. He had girls asking him out for dates.

    Happy Birthday
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.
