Headed out to try the cats. Been a month or so since we been there. I'll post pics when I get back.

It was a little slow today. We never found any bait t ofish with. Did manage to catch a couple buffalo at mexia, fish didn't care for that much. Also had some heaart and liver from a deer from deer season. But only had about 15 shad and 5 perch. They never touched the perch, caught on the shad and a few on the hearts. Ended up wih 20 with the biggest about 8 pounds. Took some guys from work so they kept the fish, i have plenty. One of the guys knew how to throw the net so it made a lot less work for me. We wasn't able to find a single shad on richland. I don't know ehre they went to. And i mean not one. Had fun though. A little showers in the morn, low wind, a little cool though. But fun anaways.

Thanks for the report baitfish. I've never fished Richland but hear good things of it and want to someday. How's the crappie doing on Richland?

i've never fished there for crappie, but the guy at oak cove marina told me last year that the fishing is awsome and not to even bother in the spring with trying to get a boat slip there cause it is full the whole spring with crappie fisherman boats.

Shad are easily caught during the warm months on rc, not so much during winter.

Thats over 40 fillets!! Fine looking mess of whiskers there Baitfish.

The 16 years I was at Limestone I never went to RC and fished it. I drove over there one time and looked at it but never wet a hook. We always did so well on Limestone I could never justify trailering the pontoon over to RC.
