I too have fished the San Jacinto under 59 (near Hamlin). Actually went there this weekend with my son on the NE side. Didn't catch much but 1 gaspagoo (aka freshwater drum). Two weeks ago we went there but on the SW side and caught 10 goo's. That was fun for my son and I, lots of action. I plan to try to get to the pond as well now that I heard about it. We live in Porter and my son is finally old enough to begin fishing.

Timmy:

Like Flathead Fred said, if you are going North on 59, the sand pits, rock pits (whatever they are) are to your right between 1960 and the San Jacinto river bridge. You can see them very easily from 59 highway.

You need to be on the 494 feeder road. There is a road that leads to these two ponds. I too have seen lots of people bank fishing. over the years.
