Not much . As long as it is cold , you can't beat this creek for the tilapia catching !
I talked with one guy to day telling me he has been catching 15" crappie off of the pier at goodtimes marina . This is below the lake Houston dam . I think this is what you should be checking out is fishing below the dam . Personally , I have never been there but I have heard about many loading up on catfish , whites, and crappie during different times of the year . Hopefully , someone else will have more to add . You might dig through our forum archives . I am not sure what old info that we might have buried on this .

I fish below the lake Houston dam from mid February through April and mostly catch crappie, white bass and catfish. I put in at Good Time Marine and start fishing all the way up to the dam. I have fished at the park before when I didn't take my boat and during March & April you can catch white bass, crappie and catfish real good then. Hopes this helps!

There is some terrific bank fishing this time of year. Cypress and spring creek will be full of white bass. Although the water is probable too high right now. White rock creek, ROCKS! A lot of parks have trout stocked. Lets not forget the black drum. 1374 on conroe has terrific crappie fishing. Somerville has been killing the crappie in the floating indoor docks.

Below the dam you can't beat Good Times Marina....they have everything you need, from bait to hot coffee and food to restrooms. There is a long dock to fish from right on th downriver side of a bend. The water drops off to 20+ feet within casting distance.
Folks are doing pretty good on the blues with fresh cut bait right before sundown through 2 hours past. Keep your bait in the channels....and along the edges of them. If you're looking for crappie with no boat, then I would head to Big Eddie and get off the beaten path. Been watching folks with boats tear 'em up on live shinners a couple feet below a float. The whites were starting to really turn on a couple weeks ago below the dam, but with this cold the bite has slowed. Catch a warmer day (coming soon) and they'll be hitting everything. Hit Good Times and look for holes to cast into. But if you really want to hit the whites, then you need to head to Cypress Creek...."stay away from the crowd!"
