OK, I'll take the flames ..

That's a sweet sentamental thought but ...

Having talked to several active duty personel of whom some are actually relatives of mine, every one I spoke to would say, DO NOT bring them home until their job is done. The area needs to be stabilized and a democratic government established in the region. For they KNOW if they aren't allowed to finish the job started (whether it was right or wrong to start in the first place) would make their children's future MUCH more tenuous and dangerous. They would gladly sacrifice the short term for a safer long term.

BTW,

I DO wish the troops could be with their families this season, but no one forced them into the military. They knew the costs ahead of time.
