i have a friend larry wilburn out here in dayton that writes a article for the newspaper and also does a radio spot "outdoor update with larry wilburn" he wrote a article about the new warnings on specs and catfish in the bay he also talked about 17 freshwater lakes and creeks which carry advisories for consumption of fish. which one of, are those toxic mouth bass. he ended the article and reason im passing it on with this and i quoate "
what is the world coming to! i have to pay $4.00 a gallon gas. pay $38.00 for a resident all water fishing license, all to go out and catch fish that i am advised to, not eat. maybe i need to rethink my hobbies."
i agree larry where did we go wrong? :grrr:

There has been alot of talk about the pollutants in our water systems lately. The bass fall prey to the mercury in the lakes, due to the coal fired power plants....and the saltwater fish are suffering from the chemical plants. It is really a sad situation, it's just horrible.

as i understand it, the MTBE that used to be sold in gasoline, and burnt in 2-cycle engines are also cause for the pollution. seems the exhaust from two-cycles went into the wter and the stuff settled to the bottom.

I work inside a chemical plant...the MTBE unit near our plant is no longer making MTBE, from what we were told. Apparently the ethanol additive has replaced MTBE.

once upon a time i did too.....(work in a chemical plant)........millwright/machinist by trade.......it has been a few years since MTBE was outlawed.....but still resides in the lakes.....

human knowlege is a killer aint it some things are just better left alone. the more they try to fix the more they mess it up. we know what dont work quit makin it. we dont know how to fix it so let nature do it it seems to know how just take a while.
