I was about to buy the Toyota Tundra 4-door, but with the price of gas, I am going to just keep driving my Dodge for now.

I have done everything that I could think of, synthetic motor oil, synthetic transmission fluid, synthetic differential fluid, K & N air filter, new plugs....nothing, I have never gotten better than 15.8 mpg out of my truck, and I have had it for 5 1/2 years.

My F-150 gets 15-16 around home, 17-19 on the road...the better number is keeping it at 55 and going downhill with a tailwind. But, when I looked at new 4 cylinder Tacoma's and Frontiers, the mileage wasn't enough better to make it worth getting a new one, especially as I drive less than 10,000 per year.

I just baught a truck, it is an 86 F150 with only 89,000 original miles!!!! It is in exelent shape. It gets terrable millge, I think around 12 to 13 mpg. But for the price I paid for it, I couldent justify buying a later model truck. And the best part of it all.....I DONT HAVE A NOTE!!!!!!!

What a beautiful, wild looking truck. I hope that Toyota introduces this one. I have a Regular Cab F250 Heavy Duty 3/4 Ton 4X4 that gets 15 highway and 11 pulling anything. I love my truck because it does the job for me and also has a 40 gal tank on it so I don't stop very often for fuel on trips. And the best part, I owe $900 on the note and she is mine!:applause:

My old truck is an 89 Silverado with a throttle body injection 350. It gets about 13 mpg towing the boat. Fortunately, I only have to tow about a mile!

That's the way to be TD. That's one reason we don't fish salt much ... too far!

We just returned from vacationing in Florida and averaged 20mpg in our full sized Dodge Sprinter 2500 ... averaging 80mph! Honestly just keeping up with traffic on I-10. When you back it down to more sane speeds it will get about 24mpg ... not bad for a 10 passenger van that my kids can stand up in. The back of it can be seen on my avitar. 5 cyl turbo diesel made by Mercedes.

I have a 5.7 in a expedition and it gets around 18 on the highway. However, as soon as get in the city this drops to around 11 or 12. Guess it doesnt like to accelerate. I was looking at the Titan and my friend said the tundra gets way better gas mileage. Was this incorrect

With the exception of the Chevy Silverado (V-8), they are all within a mile or two of each other. Note here, that Chevy is way below Toyota, Nissan, and Dodge in there horsepower, and torque ratings. The better gas mileage is sacrificed with less power.

Thanks for the information. Although, I obviously havent done my homework I was thinking of getting a new truck but I guess I should just wait and see what comes out. I sure do like the looks of the titan though.

I too have an expedition ( well my wife does anyway) hers is the Eddie Bauer edition and whe we drove it to NY in Jan. we were pulling an 8' uhaul with all of our stuff and averaged about 17 mpg on the hwy. When we came we shipped everything home and without the uhaul we were getting almost 26 mpg on the highway. I was extremely impressed. But when we put the boat behind it, it drops to about 13 mpg but i will accept that. And as for the ride you cant beat it. We love it.

I have a '06 F250 FX4 diesel and was getting around 13 in town and up to 19 on the highway. I put a $620. Bully Dog programer on it and now get in the low 15s in town. With a 30 gallon tank and 2 fillups per week that works up to around120 extra miles per week or close to 500 extra miles per month city driving. I haven't checked it on the highway yet. At the $4.70 a gallon for diesel rate the programer will pay for it self in a very few short months. They make them for alot of gas engines now too. It's worth checking in to.

NOT!!!! Is that ugly or what? Could you stand the looks of this for the great gas mileage?

Well my "new truck" had a leak and all my antifreeze drained out, so after spending a 100 bucks on parts, and a bunch of labor I drove it home and then it overheated on the road, luckily I was pulling my dads auto hauler with a winch on it so when he came to get me all he had to do was hook up and winch me up. Now my truck is at the shop waiting to get looked at because I dont know exactly what is wrong with it.

With over heating, I look for the easy things first. Bad hose and/or the thermostat are at the top of my list.
