Just got back from upstate New York....Angelica New York to be exact. My wife has family there, most of her family is in the dairy farm business. The weather was beautiful....never hotter than 75 degrees, low 50's at night. I can't remember when I have ever slept so good...maybe it was the good clean cool country air. Me and the kids fished almost every day, we really had a blast. We kept a bunch of the bass and had a fish fry the night before we left....( yep, Junebug kept and ate Bass !!!! ).

That's what I like...........a man that ain't scared to eat a bass. Looks like ya'll tore them up. I hear up-state New York is beautiful, I also hear that running a dairy cow operation is alot of work. Like 7 days a week worth of work. Glad you had a great time and made it back safe.

Them bass aren't fit to eat......just kidding, they really do taste good. The kids didn't catch any big ones, but they caught a mess of them. I think that I cleaned about 150 fish. Everyone is too busy working, so nobody ever fishes the pond....her uncle said that I was the last one to fish out of the pond, and that was 4 years ago.

From what I hear, I don't want to go hanging around any dairy farm, just for that reason. Everybody is working. Then they might start eyeballing me and wondering why I ain't helping. Yep, I leave the dairy farms alone. I might get a complex and start feeling guilty that they are working and I am fishing.

Nah, I guess they would just have to deal with it. You did good Junebug, you stood your ground. After all, the kids need to fish and they can't be around a water hole without supervision. That's what I would tell them. It's hard work supervising a bunch of kids.

That weath:applause:er on the hand, that would be hard to leave. Man, that is opening your window at night type of weather. Well, at least cracking it open a little bit anyway. You talk about this ol boy doing some good sleeping in that kind of weather. I could do some too.

Here are a few pictures that I took while we visited Letchworth State Park. The locals brag that this area is the "Grand Canyon of the East"...don't know about that, but it was impressive.

I am glad you had great weather and got the kids fishing..That pond needs some fish taken out to keep from getting overstocked...The little bass are tasty as i used to eat them when there were to many in ponds in north texas.
Those are some great pics. Thanks for sharing.

The pond is definately overstocked with the smaller bass. The first day, the kids were fishing with nightcrawlers, was hoping that they would catch some bluegills, or yellow perch....but all they caught was bass. I don't know if there are any bluegills in the pond, we never caught anything other than the bass. The pond was really thick with duckweed, so I went and got the kids some scum frogs....you talk about funny, watching the kids holler and yell when the bass would hit the top water bait. I think after this trip, I have three new bass fishing fans.

My kids have never seen Niagra Falls. I have only been there once, about 11 years ago...I will never forget it. When we went, my wife was pregnant with our daughter. It was in the middle of winter, ice everywhere, she was eight months pregnant and it was really cold
( - 15 degrees F. ). We were on the Canadian side of the falls, I think the next time we go we might do it during the warmer months.

Several years ago, we went on a tour at the George Eastman House International Museum ( founder of Kodak ). Elmira is indeed a very beautiful place to visit.

Great pic Junebug ! I wished that I could have been there fishing for those little bass with my remote control boat.

Looks like your kids had a great time. I hope that they didn't get too spoiled from that farm pond fishing.
