Actually haven't fished Texas yet. I have fished a number of lakes in NC. I plan to get to Texas within the year for some fishing.

Mainly I have spent a lot of time on the other side of the Gulf of Mexico from you. Just south of Tampa on Florida's west coast.

I am currently land locked again for a spell in SC and have ben checking out reports locally to see whaer I will try.

Yes there are. One that I like is Lake Greenwood which right about now offers good fishing for catfish as wellas stripers.
