Looking to get one for my truck and was wondering if anyone here has used them? What did/do you think? I do a little off-roading from time to time, do they need to be cleaned more often than a standard filter has to be replaced? Any performace boost? Fuel economy boost? Pro's and Con's....

For a lack of better words, "they stink"

1. They are expensive
2. No change in gas mileage
3. No change in performance
4. Pain in the rear trying to keep them clean
5. A $15.00 fram air filter blocks more dirt than the K & N
6. More frequent oil changes, due to the dirt getting throught the filter

I can go on and on....

:icon_eek: Oh wow!!!! I had heard something about having to clean them a bit more....which is what got me to questioning them.

Sounds like I'll stick with Fram.

Some people out there might like them, but I am pretty critical about the equipment that I run on my truck.

Same here....heck, I won't even let a shop touch my truck....do it all myself!

Yep they stink!

I put one on my 2006 Dodge with the cummins and it dropped 2 miles per gallon. Left it in for 4 full tanks to compare my figures. After 2720 miles it was extremely nasty I replaced it with a fram. Have a couple friends say it improved their mileage however not by much. Also if you do venture off road often the will clog quickly!!!!

I have mine in the garage....I have the cleaner and oil to go with it. If someone has a Dodge truck ( 2003 with 4.7 ) they are welcome to it.....just come and get it, if you want to try it out.
