...is a pain in the ****. I have spent an hour and half on paperwork to register and title my boat and outboard motor. Form 143, 144, and two 504's. The 504 form is interesting. If you buy a boat or motor out of state, then you have to take a picture of the serial number OR you can "pencil trace" the number on the form. The instructions say, "If the rubbing is not legible, rub it anyway, and write the numbers you see above, below or next to the rubbing." Nonetheless, my boat and motor are 1 1/2 hours away, so I'm thankful that my Livingston neighbor is going to take a couple of photos for me and email them to me. I'm running up against the 20 working day deadline before penalties kick in.
