Stay Tuned

Msgagman42 and her family are coming to Humble on the 16th around 7:00 or 7:30 PM so we can take them to dinner. This will give her a chance to meet us, so be on your best behavior. LOL!!

Maybe those who have already fished with Jackie Kennedy can tell her about the trip.

Everyone is invited. We need to pick a place where we can enjoy ourselves, take some pictures and overall have a good time. It also would not hurt if the food is also good to eat.

What place do you recommend so I can let her know where to come?

If its Jack In The Box, they are somewhat hard to find because of the new signs.

We should name some spots ... Let her and her family decide ! I love them all ! Mexican , steak houses , BBQ, etc.

Papas seafood
Papas BBQ
Papasittas Mexican
Chewy's Mexican
Outback steak house
Joes crab shack
Salt grass steak house
To name a few !!

Oh and there is a huge chinese buffet behind chucky cheese !!!!! ( just thought I would mention it )

I give the two thumbs down on Joe's Crabs. Fun place but the food is always so so and I never leave happy for the money

Those are all food chains. Surely you could find some place local owned with good food. Chances are good they can eat at all those places around them. I always prefer a mom and pop dive to eat at than a big food chain. Might as well make the trip totally unique. Just my 02

Other than the food , one thing that I also like is that this place isn't as noisy as some of the other restaurants.

OK fellow members, especially Msgagman42 and family.

We will meet at Cafe East on September 16 at 7:00 PM.

Unless I have it wrong, Cafe East is located on the east side of the big parking lot in the north east section of First Street and North Bender Avenue. This area is only a block or so east of Highway 59. Coming from Hwy 59 on First Street, you will see the restaurant, Little Mexico on your left. Cafe East is kind of behind Little Mexico, just down from the Firestone Tire Store.

See you there.

It was a pleasure visting and eating dinner with GAry and Carrie and their three boys last night . They have an awesome family.

Interesting for me was that they haven't been doing hardly any bass fishing ... but CATFISHING !!!

YES !! Catfishing !! on Lake Livingston and Lake Houston !! so needless to say we had lots to talk about at dinner. Hope I didn't talk too much!! LOL

Anytime you want to take the boys out jugging just let me know . I have all of the equipment !!

Special thanks to Rodney Smith ! He bought everyone dinner ! You didn't have to do that .....that place was expensive !! The atmosphere was quite and roomy and it was very easy to visit.

I really enjoyed meeting Carrie and her family. They not only enjoy fishing, they enjoy talking about fishing. In addition, Gary was appropriately dressed with a UT top and a UT cap. (GO HORNS)

Sorry about taking so long to post; been busy with the kiddos football games. We had a great time and enjoyed the conversation very much. I would also like to thank RodSmith for the dinner, you didn't have to do that. I must say that Jeff is a wealth of knowledge and I took every opportunity I had to pick his brain. He has me talked into trying the jugging thing; as a matter of fact I am going to Lowes now to pick up the materials to make a few. The only problem I am going to have is cutting the rebar. I'll figure it out some way to get it done. Thanks again RodSmith and Jeff for a really nice dinner.

Now you have expressed an interest in juglines, but we still want to know about any of your other fishing trips.

I saw that great camera that your wife had. The way she treated it, it is obvious that she takes a lot of pictures. We want to see the ones having to do with fishing. LOL

That camera is my baby. It was my first gift to myself. And with all the fishing we do I wanted the BEST. Nokia D80. I am currently lookin at the new Nokia but its like almost 3000 I think. OUCH!!! Gary is currently sitting in the floor making jug lines for catfishing. Thanks JEFF lol. He's hooked about as much as I am. I'm dieing to see how he'll do tomorrow. He's hitting Lake Houston in my Rig without me BIG NONO lol. It was a pleasure having dinner with Rodsmith and Jeff. Ya'll are a great bunch of friends. I'm glad to have met all of ya'll. HD, LuckyBass13, Jeff, Rodsmith, and I missed out on meeting Ben. :( I believe Gary is going to try to make the muster with the Boys. Kids are dieing to go out with Jeff on his boat. They've never had the opportunity to do something like that. Jeff I appreciate all the great tips and all the advice you gave Gary. This is all new for us with the katfishing. But Thanks to all of ya'll for the dinner and we appreciate everything.

I have cut the rebarb with a chop saw ,bolt cutters and lately a hand held grinder with a cutting wheel . If you use 1/2" rebarb in the 1/2" pipe , make sure the burse are smooth so it doesn't stick.
