This might be the appropriate venue for my introduction to Livingston. What is the date/location/etc?

Tentatively, I will plan to attend/participate.

Somebody PM "lets fish" and tell him about this (I just stumbled into this info).

Where's the next closest campground? We just need to pitch a tent.

JonW I'll call them in the morning. I was told that Cajun Cooker tried to make a reservation and was told they were full. But the more I thought about it Cajun Cooker uses a camper. So maybe their tent sites are not all full. Anyway I'll call them in the morning.

Don, The boat ramp at Indian Creek Marina is silted in..I think you would be much better to use the public ramp at Holiday Shores. Another public ramp is at Point Blank (Old 190) but this is about 5 mi. N of Wolfe Creek & no camping.

Thank you, dpiper.

Hopefully my boat will be fixed and running. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that draining the gas tank and changing the fuel pump will get it going. Won't know 'til Monday at best.

Wolfcreek is fully booked including tent sites. I recommend San Jacinto Inn or Holiday Shores Marina. See numbers from above.

Rode the scooter this morning to Wolf Creek to check things out. Yep, it was a bit on the chilly side. Met Lisa, she runs the park store. Extremly nice and makes a good cup of coffee. Talked with a few guys R & R fishing off the bulkhead. They were picking up a few cats in the three to four pound range. Two of them were brothers, they had made theirselves each a rod holder out of used 1 x 4s that held 4 long rods. I became intrigued when they showed me how they were hinged so you could lay it flat when traveling. Realy neat set up. Think I'll bring my long rods next weekend.

I also talked with the attendents. Each site with a travel camper is allowed one tent and ten people camping on the site. It will cost $4 dollars per car and $2 day / $1 nite. Camp fires are allowed. I will be bringing the 10' x 20' tent and the big gas heater. Anyone that wants to sleep in it is welcome. The rest rooms/showers are very clean. (see first picture).

Dang, I just got off the phone with Ben. He asked me the same question. Ok....I am still trying to to keep up with the amount of pictures Ben takes. I just don't think about having the camera with me. But I am working on it.

Hey, choo choo man what do you need us to bring to the muster? Also when are you leaving to go to Wolf Creek? I plan on going shopping tomorrow.

Hopefully just a fuel pump. I'll know for sure on Monday. If so, I'm switching over to a regular pump and will mix my oil and gas. I'd feel a little safer that way, and it will save me well over $200.

mikechell, Ben said you might need directions to Wolf Creek. Take I 45 north to Willis. Exit on Hwy 1097. Follow 1097 through Willis to dead end at Hwy 150. Turn right. Go about 17 miles to Coldspring. Turn left on Hwy 156. (There is a Peoples Bank on the left. The first road past the bank is FM156) Go 1 mile to Hwy 224. Turn right. (There is a Wolf Creek sign just before Hwy 224). Go 5 miles Wolf Creek is on the right. Tell the attendant you are with Dave Taylor on site 32. Looking foward to meeting you. My cell # is 281-382-9272 if you have problems.

Bigdave
I'm on my way to work on it now. Things weren't looking too good last night, but it looks like my buddy will have all day to work on it. He thinks the carbs may need to be cleaned out really good.
Boy, that would be nice!

I'm optomistic at this time!

Thanks for the directions. That should be the way to go for us, right?

JonW

One of the carbs was in VERY bad shape and is soaking overnight. The new fuel pump is on and the other carb is rebuilt. I'll have to wait until Friday morning to finish, but I'm meeting him at 5am to put it all back together and take it to the river and make sure it's good.

Assuming no problems, I'll be up there as soon as I can physically get my boat home, throw mama and the baby in the truck, and drive there.

:D

Piper I know we gonna have catch fish to eat if your wife and son are comming. I have seen what they catch. I will be up there as soon as I can Friday morning.

JonW, directions to Wolf Creek from Crosby. North on 59 to Cleveland, exit on Hwy 2025, turn left. Go 18 miles to dead end at Hwy150. Turn right, go 1.6 miles to Hwy 156. (There is a Peoples Bank on the left. Hwy 156 is the first road past it). Go 1 mile to Hwy 224, turn right. ( there will be a Wolf Creek sign just before Hwy 224. Wolf creek is 5 miles on the right. I picked up the FishingTx Banner from Ben tonight. Look for it on the main road that goes through the park. I have a Lance cabover on a red Ford. Tell the attendent you are with Frank and Sylvia on site 33.

Mikechell, Levi (my son ) said you can borrow his sleeping bag. I also have a blowup mattress. I'll bring it. Since Ben can't make it you will have to supply your own pillow. HEHEHE LOL
