View Full Version : Box I made for the wife for Christmas

Thought I'd post this. Box is solid Mahogany, unfinished inside, "Gunstock" stain and urethane finish. The seam for the top in the closed box picture isn't where it appears to be. It is about 5/8ths of an inch down on the smooth side. Note hinge positions. All hardware is solid brass.

Thanks guys. The dimensions of the box (i.d) are 4 in deep, 7 in wide, and 17 in long... about the dimensions of a shoe box (which this will replace to store her stuff). She has native American ceremonial things she likes to keep together, and wanted a pretty box to keep them in.

That's nothing I couldn't build in about 47 tries and six or eight years and getting lots of help. I've worked on some wood and that is very nice work.
