My friend fastguy George Malik has invited me to join him on his BayCat for a trip to Port O'Connor. He is on a hot tip for some Tarpon so we will see. Leaving July 12 to return July 15. I do hope a few bullreds and jacks are in my future as well as the Tarpon. Photos to follow if things pan out, and I'm confident they will.

Well it improved as fewer hardheads but still an ample supply of sharks, 1 trout, 1 nice sting ray, and two that put up a great fight but broke off before we got a look at em. A great fun day but still no reds or jacks. Going to give em another whirl tomorrow. Not a sniff at a Tarpon.

No sharks in the photo size yet only dinks and most are released outside the boat if possible. I've retied hooks yesterday until the world looked flat. An 80# leader is nothing to these sharp toof critters.
Yes, the BayCat is a fine boat but not many sold or even around anymore, George has only seen 3 or 4. He keeps is amazingly clean and nice. Hope for the best today or at least a showing of some sort.

That's the first one I have seen. Seen plenty of bass cat bass boats. Never a salty center console one.

Leaving out this AM for the 6 hour teak home. Not a bad outing just not what I had planned on. Oh well beats working or best I remember anyhow. The Bay Cat was a short life boat and very few saw production. At the rate George keeps this one in condition it will be around for a long while.

:DancingChicken:ok jk i been holding back but i ll say it now that boat was just too clean to catch fish and the cap lost its top that could have affected the catching, just saying.. at least you did nt kill no fish

Have a safe trip back. The weather here in east TX is nice and cool with 0% humidity. Might need a light jacket if you go outside.

Travel safe my friend

Your right I'd rather catch sharks, big uglies and other fishies than grinding away at work.
