We normally fish Lake Conroe with lots of luck with catfish. My wife and I are planning a trip July 14th weekend to Sam RayBurn. Camping at San Augustine Campground on the east side. Anyone know of any hot spot close and what would be my best bet for bait.

Welcome to the FishingTx family CatfishComander!! That is a nice park on Rayburn. I camped there many years ago when Bass fishing. I don't know about the catfishing in that area. Sorry. Let us know how you do good or bad. Good luck and keep an eye on the sky. That lake can get mean quick.
