    What is this on the beach of Corpus Christi ???

    My buddy was at Corpus Christi this weekend and went to the beach. He called me and told me he saw a big slick on the water. Me being the fisherman I said did you fish it?? He said not a fish slick an OIL SLICK!!!!!!!!!!!!! I said get me pics.

    Sometimes the gulf leaks crude like that. Not all pollution is man-made. Beautiful water anyway. Did he call the Coast guard and report it?

    looks like a big old tar ball....they had one come into Galveston last week too....just a shame i say.....

    Shoot, I've never read anything of this sort before man entered the gulf trying ta drill fer oil. Natural? Not!

    Holy cow that water looks good! Can't really comment on the slick part but I'd love to be fishing that water!

    That is left over from the big oil spill a couple of years ago at that BP rig. The light material from the crude eventually evaporates and leaves behind what is essentially tar.

    Can not actually comment on the nasty layer of water, however, i would like to fish in such sort of circumstances.
